Change or Die!!!!!!

During my consultations when I say “Change or Die”; people feel that I am exaggerating or they feel that I am harsh.  The other day, I was watching “Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares”.  The show is quite interesting.  He was helping a restaurant that will close in a few months if nothing is being done.  So, he implemented quite a few things for the owner and the staff to do and change.  The owner was resisting very aggressively and was in an argument with Gordon Ramsey.  Then, Gordon Ramsey went outside and said to the camera; “If the owner does not change, he is missing a great opportunity.  If they stay the same, they will not survive. They have to Change or Die.”

Most people do not want to change.  We want to grab hold of whatever we have and refuse to let go.  We give ourselves excuses why we cannot change or let go of what we are holding.  We do not want to change anything and we have the illusion that when nothing changes, things will eventually be better.

The problem is everything changes.  We are always getting older and the time is always running.  This minute and the last minute and the next minute are different.  Nothing stays the same.  When we try to stay the same and everything else around us is changing; we will feel a lot of pain and the pressure to change.

Are we constantly changing and moving or are we trying to hold on to whatever we have?  Remember, CHANGE or DIE!!!

Go and STOP!!!

Normally the saying is “Stop and Go”; so why is the title “Go and Stop”?  Stop and Go means we stop to see what is happening first before we go.  Go and Stop means that when we intend to do something, then, we consciously and unconsciously have the feelings and thoughts that are contrary to what we intend.  It is similar to while stepping on the gas pedal of the car; we try to step on the brake at the same time.  When we do that, nothing happens, the car stays at the same place with the engine running.

This is when we feel that things are going well and then all of a sudden, something goes wrong and everything falls apart.  Instead of blaming it on the circumstances, situations or other people, this is the time when we need to take a hard look inside ourselves and see what were our thoughts and feelings that are contrary to the intentions of what we are doing.

Instead of Go and Stop, we should Stop and Go.  We stop to see what is happening in ourselves and everything around us, then; we know where to go and what to do.  Just like we continuously aware of what is happening on the road while we are driving.

Are we Stopping or Going or are we Going and Stopping?  You may find life a little easier if you Stop and Go instead of the other way around.
